James Keeling Camp 52 SCV invites you to our next meeting,

Tuesday August 5, 2008 at 7:30 pm.

At Avoca Branch of the Bristol

Library on Volunteer Parkway.

We Want to thank all for supporting our work with the Monument at East Hill Cemetery.

Camp 52 would like express our sympathy to Brother Rick Morrell. He lost his father, earlier this month. Lets keep Rick and family in our prayers through this tough time.

James Keeling, our immortal hero, on November 8, 1861 fought and defended the railway bridge at Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. His action there that night made him a true Confederate hero, then and now. He was awarded the Confederate medal of Honor, which is at the Confederate Museum in Knoxville, Tennessee. James is buried here in Bristol at the historic East-Hill Cemetery.
