CIVIL WAR REENACTMENT CAMP 52 INVITE YOU NOVEMBER 7-8, 2009 TO SKIRMISH AT ZOLLICOFFER. LOCATED 1/4 MILE PAST BLUFF CITY MIDDLE SCHOOL ON OLD ELIZABETHON ROAD. BATTLES BEGIN 2:00PM BOTH DAYS. ADMISSION IS $5.00 PER PERSON, CHILDREN UNDER 12 FREE.
James Keeling, our immortal hero, on November 8, 1861 fought and defended the railway bridge at Strawberry Plains, Tennessee. His action there that night made him a true Confederate hero, then and now. He was awarded the Confederate medal of Honor, which is at the Confederate Museum in Knoxville, Tennessee. James is buried here in Bristol at the historic East-Hill Cemetery.
